Its been a month already since i have this player. And its time now to have my own personal insights about this Philips product. Before i bought this, i opt to have an Apple Ipod Shuffle. Since my use of an mp3 player is mainly for jogging, then i prefer to select a cheaper, light and minimal storage size. And finally i chose to have this Philips GoGear Spark 4GB for about Php3495. And here is my own review..
Features of Philips GoGear Spark 4GB
* FullSound. A proprietary enhancement by Philips to bring a CD listening experience thru MP3
* MP3 and WMA playback
* Voice Recording
Whats in the box?
* GoGear Spark MP3 player
* Standard Philips earphone
* neckstrap
* usb cable
* Qucik Start Guide
Testing
After unpacking and loading some 320kbps songs into the player, i test it with its own Philips headphone that comes with the package. The sound is acceptable but lacks the kick of bass. I played Pearl Jam's The Fixer for this test. When the song is beaing played there you can have the Options button above the player. I Enhance the sound by using FullSound function. The sound now is really good but not great though. Next test is "Mad" an R&B song by Neyo. The bass here really blows the earphone and found out the distorted sound at high volume.
The Verdict.
Pros..
* Cheap player
* Acceptable music quality
* Lightweight and size
* Ergonomically well designed
Cons
*Aweful headset
* No clip
After testing the player i now realize that the headphone comes with the package is really poor, I bought a Sony headphone for Php600 and now the player really sounds great. Acceptable bass, clear sound, distortion free music..
